Dietary Needs & Personal Preferences
We want every guest to feel comfortable at the table. Please tell us well in advance about allergies, intolerances, vegetarian or vegan diets, other dietary requirements and even foods you strongly dislike. Some remote accommodations serve fixed menus, so advance notice allows us to coordinate with our trusted hosts and personalise the experience wherever possible.
What type of accommodation is used on WolfTrails tours?
We work with a wide range of accommodation, but on Alpine routes this usually means small, simple mountain guesthouses and refuges, comfortable and always spotlessly clean, without unnecessary frills. If you’d like 4- or 5-star luxury for parts of the trip, this can often be arranged, though we can’t always guarantee it for every single night of a multi-day route.
Can dietary requirements be accommodated?
Yes vegan, vegetarian and other dietary preferences can be requested in advance and are generally no problem in the kitchens we work with. For severe allergies, such as celiac disease, please get in touch before booking: many mountain refuges can prepare gluten-free meals but cannot guarantee a fully allergen-free kitchen, so we want to be upfront about that with you first.
Will I have to share a dorm room with other guests?
Some mountain refuges only offer shared dormitory-style rooms. When this is the case, WolfTrails books it exclusively for your group and arranges upgrades wherever the refuge allows — cotton bed linen, towels, a private bathroom and free hot water are typically included. The building stays a simple mountain refuge, but the stay itself is elevated through relationships built over years in the area.
Who chooses where we stay?
Roberto personally selects every accommodation used on a WolfTrails tour, based on years of first-hand experience across the region. Priority always goes to places with genuine character and reliable service, from family-run guesthouses to premium hotels, rather than the first option available online.
